  • White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Rehab assignment coming

    Manager Pedro Grifol said Saturday that Ramos (quad) will likely being a rehab assignment at Triple-A Charlotte within the next few days, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

    Ramos has been sidelined since making an early exit from Tuesday's game against Washington due to left quadricep tightness, and he officially landed on the injured list Friday. The 22-year-old was slashing .281/.294/.344 across his first 10 MLB games before getting injured, and Grifol's comments suggest Ramos may be able to return to the lineup when eligible next Saturday.

  • White Sox's Tommy Pham: Swipes second bag

    Pham went 3-for-5 with a double, a run scored and his second stolen base of the season in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Yankees.

    The veteran outfielder thrived once again in the leadoff spot. Pham has hit safely in nine of his last 10 games, slashing .385/.429/.538 over that stretch with a homer, two steals, four runs and seven RBI. Luis Robert (hip) could be back by the end of the month, and while his return might bump Pham to an outfield corner, he's playing too well right now to lose his starting spot completely.

  • White Sox's Mike Clevinger: Stuck with second loss

    Clevinger (0-2) took the loss Friday, giving up three runs on five hits and two walks over 4.2 innings as the White Sox were downed 4-2 by the Yankees. He struck out five.

    The right-hander tossed 78 pitches (47 strikes) before exiting, failing to complete five innings for the third straight start since joining Chicago's rotation. Clevinger offers little fantasy appeal until he at least begins lasting long enough to qualify for a win, although the White Sox's struggling offense won't give him many opportunities for one. Clevinger will take a 5.56 ERA, 1.85 WHIP and 10:6 K:BB through 11.1 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come next week in Toronto.

  • White Sox's Rafael Ortega: Outrighted to Charlotte

    Ortega cleared waivers Friday and was sent outright to Triple-A Charlotte, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

    Ortega held the right to decline his outright assignment and elect free agency, but he will instead remain within the White Sox organization and look to turn things around in the minors. The 33-year-old went 1-for-14 during his stint with the Sox, but he has slashed .241/.378/.431 with 14 RBI through 75 plate appearances with Charlotte.

    Ramos was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday by the White Sox due to a left quadriceps strain.

    Ramos exited the first game of the White Sox's Tuesday doubleheader due to tightness in his quadricep, and he will now be out for at least another eight days due to the injury. The rookie infielder is slashing .281/.294/.344 through his first 10 big-league games.

    Julks was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte by the White Sox on Friday.

    After being traded to the White Sox from the Astros on Wednesday, Julks will now be called up just two days later.     Mendick (back) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Friday.

    Mendick was placed on the injured list in early May with back soreness and only needed two rehab starts before being activated. During those two Triple-A games, Mendick went 0-for-8 with two walks and a run scored. He'll replace Braden Shewmake on the big-league roster and could see immediate action at third base with Bryan Ramos also headed to the 10-day IL with a strained left quad.

    Shewmake was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Friday.

    The 26-year-old will move back to Charlotte with Danny Mendick (back) being reinstated from the 10-day IL on Friday. Shewmake struggled during 29 games in the bigs, slashing .125/.134/.203 with one walk across 67 plate appearances.

    Lee went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Nationals.

    The 25-year-old produced his fourth multi-hit performances in eight May contests and he continues to tighten his grip on the top spot on the White Sox depth chart. On the season, Lee has compiled a .309/.341/.494 slash line with four homers, two steals, eight runs and 10 RBI in 29 games.

    Kopech walked two and struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday to record his fifth save of the season in a 2-0 win over the Nationals.

    After working a scoreless frame in the nightcap of Tuesday's doubleheader in a non-save situation, Kopech was called upon again and labored through 33 pitches (20 strikes) before finally getting the job done. The last time the right-hander pitched on back-to-back days, he got the next four days off, so Kopech could be unavailable at least until the weekend. Through 19 appearances this season, he sports a 3.32 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 29:14 K:BB through 21.2 innings.

  • White Sox's Garrett Crochet: Blanks Nats for fourth win

    Crochet (4-4) picked up the win in Wednesday's 2-0 victory over the Nationals, giving up three hits and three walks over five scoreless innings. He struck out six.

    The left-hander wasn't exactly efficient, tossing only 56 of 89 pitches for strikes, but Crochet lasted long enough to qualify for the win. After a rough stretch in April, the 24-year-old has allowed only three runs over his last three starts (1.59 ERA) with a stellar 24:1 K:BB in 17 innings. Crochet will look to keep rolling in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week in Toronto.

  • White Sox's Dominic Fletcher: Back with big club

    The White Sox recalled Fletcher from Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.

    Fletcher was sent down to the minors late last month after hitting just .203/.277/.271 with a 20:4 K:BB over 66 plate appearances with Chicago. He will get another look with the big club after slashing .238/.319/.405 with one home run in 11 contests with Charlotte. Gavin Sheets has just a .516 OPS in May, so Fletcher could end up emerging as a regular in right field.

    Julks had been designated for assignment by Houston but has now landed in a more favorable organization from a playing-time perspective. The 28-year-old will report to Triple-A Charlotte for now, but he should have a clearer bath to resurfacing in the majors in Chicago compared to Houston. Julks slashed .245/.297/.352 with six home runs and 15 stolen bases over 93 games with the Astros last season but has spent all of 2024 at Triple-A Sugar Land, batting .266/.358/.444 with five home runs.
